  DPA LEAVES GOVERNMENT COALITION

Central Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) decided late Wednesday on the party's exit from the Government coalition.
The party's Central Board should confirm the decision at Thursday's session, chaired by honorary president Arben Xhaferi.
"The session will be held at 17,00h in Saraj, and I am certain that the decision on DPA's exit from the Government will be accepted, thus making it final", said DPA leader Menduh Thaci after the Central Presidency session.
He emphasized this represents a difficult problem and a big political crisis, adding that the ones hoping for spin or trick masters to resolve the situation are to be fooled. Thaci stated that DPA wants to be part of the problem's solution, not the problem itself.
"Taking into account the Macedonian Constitution and the laws in the country, Gruevski and Ahmeti should tell us whether they have agreed on composing a new Government. We do this because of our renown to avoid behind-the-scene games, hide and seek, and our aspiration for transparent policy. The NATO process is very important, but our priority are the rights of the people we represent", emphasized Thaci.
According to him, DPA is supported by "our allies EU, NATO and USA on the joint efforts to resolve these problems".
"They are not that naive to interfere in the composition of our governments. Their message is quite clear", underlined DPA leader Thaci.

MACEDONIA, CROATIA, ALBANIA NATO ACCESSION WILL NOT BURDEN ALLIANCE BUDGET

Officials from NATO and the U.S. State Department support the accession of Croatia, Albania and Macedonia to the Alliance, and believe these three countries would not additionally burden its budget.

According to him, the NATO entry of the three countries would bring the Balkans closer to the European future, as well as strengthen regional security.
U.S. Assistant State Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Daniel Fried assessed that Croatia is an important military partner, adding that the country has achieved political and economic progress, as well as in implementation of army reforms.
NATO Europe Commander John Craddock said that Croatia, Albania and Macedonia provide enormous contribution to the ISAF Mission in Afghanistan, adding that their accession would not represent a burden for the NATO resources, taking into account their contribution.
"There is a requirement within NATO that each country secures its own air defense, but since they cannot do this, NATO will", stressed General Craddock.
