The agony of the railroad
workers is continuing
The railroad workers are asking the lists for the cancellation of contracts
to be revoke until the exact money for leaving from the work are not
considerate. They announced that if this problem is not going to be solved
than they will block the railroad transportation and they will protest in
front of the Government. “If they make good social packet than I am shore
than 300 people will leave voluntary, because it’s clear to everyone than
after the transformation of the company there will be new notices of
resignations”- said Nikola Bogoevski from the Syndicate of the Macedonian
Railroad.
The railroad worker are asking 5000 euro and they say that, they will not
accept anything less. The Government is giving 2500 euro and promise that
they will take in consideration request of the workers. |

Surplus manpower also in
the Waterpower engineering
The workers will be dismissed from the waterpower engineering companies, but
the number is unknown. The number will be known until the end of this month
when the list for four waterpower-engineering companies for emergency
liquidation will be defined. This was agreed between the Prime-minister
Vlado Buckovski and the director of the Waterpower-engineering. “The unpaid
salaries, money for food and traffic will be paid to all of those who will
receive notice of cancellation. Severance pay will get only those who will
not stay at work” –says Teodor Conevski, the Director of the Public company
Waterpower-engineering of Macedonia.
From 24 waterpower-engineering companies, 8 are liquidated and transformed
because of the big debs. |

The new international card
is promoted
After the promotion of the ProCard before four months, ProCredit Bank has
made new international card – Maestro Card.
The Maestro Card of the ProCredit Bank is offering cash for 24 hours a day,
7 days a week and 365 days a year, in more than 5 millions sails places in
81 countries, without fee and in more than 900.000 cash machines in our
country and in the foreign countries.

Macedonia without the Law for hormonal food
All over the world the public is against the use of genetic modify food, but
Macedonia still doesn’t have Law with whom is prohibited these kind of
products. Although the statements for opening of laboratory for examination
of the genetic modify food in December 2004, the laboratory is not open yet.
Also the preparations are not finished for the Law regulation that will
define this area. According to the Director of the Direction of the food,
Sonja Srbinovska, in the next couple of months the campaign for promotion of
the ethic conscience for bio safety of the food will start. |

“Honors of Dionysus –
Miny Ugrinovska”
“Honors of Dionysus – Miny Ugrinovska” has started on February 25 in the
Salon 19,19 at 7:19 pm with the film “Kiss the sun”, in production of “Dion”
and of MRTV (Macedonian radio and television). The scenarist is Tihomir
Stojanovski and the director is Vlado Dencov. This film is reviewed in few
festivals, in Thessalonica, Izmir, Bar, Sarajevo, Olomouk.
At the same night is the performance of the folklore group Frastani (Serez -
Aegean) and Stefce Stojkovski, than at 8:30 pm the folklore group from
Mosomiste (Goce Delcev – Pirin), at 9 o’clock pm folklore songs and curses
of the Macedonians from Gora, Golo Brdo and Prespa. At 9:30 pm the
representatives from the Macedonian Associations from Greece, Albania,
Serbia and Monte Negro, Bulgaria, Turkey will presents orations. Goce
Terziev will be one of the participants from Dolni Dabnic – Pirin.
On February 26 at 7:19 pm the player of the gusle, Dose Angelov from Kriva
Palanka will perform, than at 8 o’clock pm the theater “Skrb i Uteha” (Care
and Consolation) with the play “Cold shower – Instructions for foolish acts”
from Tihomir Stojanovski, directed by Vlado Doncev. At 9 o’clock pm the
linguist professor Odisej Belcevski from Canada, will give lecture on
subject “Macedonian primordial language from antique time till today”. |

PRESIDENT CRVENKOVSKI MEETS
ASSOCIATES OF US CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS
Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski met Wednesday a delegation of
associates of US congressmen and senators.
Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva and Macedonian Ambassador to the US Nikola
Dimitrov attended the meeting.
Crvenkovski introduced the US delegation with the present situation in
Macedonia and country's priorities and plans in the forthcoming period,
reads his Cabinet's press release.
The President said that the Ohrid Agreement implementation, which is in its
final phase, would be completed with the local elections and transfer of
authorities to local government deriving from the power decentralization
process.
He pointed out that Macedonia presented a proof that the concept of
reconciliation, inter-ethnic tolerance and coexistence was possible on the
Balkans, saying that the successful Macedonian model should be an example
for all countries in the region.
Crvenkovski expressed belief that Macedonia would receive candidate status
for EU membership by the end of this year, and invitation for NATO
membership at the next Alliance's summit.
During the meeting, the President informed the US representatives about the
judiciary and economic reforms.
Crvenkovski also referred to Macedonian-Greek talks on the name dispute at
the UN headquarters.
Regarding the Kosovo status, Crvenkovski said that preventive measures
should be undertaken in order to minimize the risk of new destabilization,
referring to the demarcation of the Macedonian border to the Kosovo part.
