Амандманот предвидува дека Врховниот суд на пленарна седница ќе одлучува за учество на изборите на одредена партија.
Партијата Национална партија –Грци, која во Грција се нарекува и „партијата на Касидиарис“, го промени првиот човек за да го заобиколи постоечкиот закон што може да го блокира учеството на претстојните парламентарни избори во земјата.
На местото на Касидиарис, кој ќе биде кандидат за пратеник во Атина, дојде поранешниот заменик- обвинител од Врховниот суд, Анастасиос Канелопулос.
Грчкиот парламент веќе има изгласано закон со кој се забранува на изборите да учествува партија чиј претседател, генерален секретар или вистински лидер е осуден за криминално дело, а сега, со амандманот се поставуваат дополнителни ограничувања.
Целиот случај со „партијата на Касидиарис“ предизвика низа реакции во Грција во изминатите денови, а со јавен став, нешто што не е вообичаено, излезе и потпретседателот на Врховниот Суд Христос Ѕанерикос кој смета дека амандманот е директна интервенција во работата на судот.
Партијата „Национална партија –Грци“, според истражувањата на јавното мислење во земјата, добива доволен рејтинг за да го помине неопходниот изборен праг од три отсто и да обезбеди место во Парламентот.
Одлуката, дали партијата ќе учествува на изборите или не, ќе ја донесе Врховниот суд на Грција, веројатно на 5 мај.
Касидиарис, кој моментално е во затвор, во периодот од 2012 до 2019 година беше пратеник од Златна зора, а во октомври 2020 година беше осуден на затворска казна од 13 година и шест месеци поради формирање криминална организација.
