Иако ја препознаваме важноста да се разговара за реформите во Унијата и за иднината на ЕУ, сметаме дека тоа не треба да се користи како изговор за одложување на процесот на проширување на нашите партнери од Западен Балкан, со кои преговараме со години и децении. се наведува во писмото на австриската Влада упатено до високиот претставник на Унијата за надворешна политика и безбедност Жозеп Борел, еврокомесарот за соседска политика и проширување Оливер Вархеји и до министрите и државните секретари за надворешни работи и европски прашања на членките ЕУ.
Повикувајќи се на декларацијата на „Пријателите на Западен Балкан“ од јуни 2023 година, во Австрија бара од институциите на ЕУ да презентираат јасна агенда за етапна и забрзана интеграција на земјите од Западен Балкан со конкретни чекори за имплементација до 2024 година и во следниот период, врз основа на „фер и ригорозни услови и принципот на поединечни заслуги“.
Во поисмото, потпишано од австрискиот министер за надворешни работи Александер Шаленберг и министерката за ЕУ и уставни прашања Каролине Едштадлер, се посочува дека Австрија целосно се согласува со важната порака што претседателката на Европската комисија ја нагласи во своето обраќање за „Состојбата на Унијата“ пред ЕП кон средината на овој месец дека „Иднината на Западен Балкан е во нашата Унија“.
– Дваесет години по Самитот ЕУ-Западен Балкан во Солун, оваа пораката е поважна од кога било. Во исто време, очигледно е дека сегашниот процес на проширување станува се покомплексен и побирократски и затоа напредува премногу бавно, се додава во документот.
Како што јави специјалниот известувач на МИА од Брисел, во писмото се посочува дека руската агресија врз Украина го промени политичкиот пејзаж на Европа и направи земјите од Западен Балкан и нивните граѓани уште побрзо е да се поврзат со ЕУ, па затоа треба да создаде „рамноправно поле за игра“ со другите кандидати и аспиранти, кои веќе ги уживаат придобивките на вклученост во зоната на слободна трговија.
– Надоврзувајќи се на австрискиот нон-пејпер од мај 2022 година, заклучоците на Европскиот совет од 23 и 24 јуни 2022 година, како и на новиот план за раст за Западен Балкан, објавен од претседателот на Комисијата во мај 2023 година, сметаме дека од клучно значење е понатамошно унапредување на постепената интеграција на Западен Балкан на патот кон полноправно членство, се вели во документот.
Австрија најавува дека изработила листа на конкретни предлози, кои ќе ги елаборира пред Претседателството на ЕУ, институциите на Унијата и заинтересираните земји членки, особено на оние од групата „Пријателите на Западниот Балкан“.
– Се надеваме дека овие предлози ќе придонесат за нашите претстојни дискусии и ќе бидат брзо имплементирани, се додава во писмото.
