Македонското друштво „Мала Преспа” од Канада ја одржа традиционалната годишна средба, во чест на големиот верски празник Свети Архангел Михаил, кој е заштитник на Македонците од Мала Преспа, пишува весникот „Македониум”.
Додава дека иако се далеку од својата родна грутка иселените Македонци од овој живописен крај своите традиции како светост ги чуваат и негуваат и во Канада.
– Имаат свое друштвото „Мала Преспа” кое е формирано со цел продолжување на македонштината и во Канада. На настанот кој се одржа на старата локација Capitol Banquet Hall во градот Мисисага присуствуваа многу Македонци со потекло од Мала Преспа, кои денес живеат во Канада и САД, наведува весникот.
Средбата и присутните ги благословија свештениците од Македонската православна црква, а пред присутните се претставија најмладите членови на македонското културно-уметничко друштво.
– Сплотено, семакедонски се славеше до раните утрински часови. Средбата беше испочитувана од многу претставници на управите во македонските православни цркви, како и македонски патриотски организации и здруженија од Канада, стои во написот.
Владимир Терпо, македонски иселеник од Мала Преспа, кој живее во Канада, за весникот „Македониум“ изјави дека македонското друштво „Мала Преспа” во Канада е формирано пред 14 години од македонски иселеници од Пустец и други делови од областа Мала Преспа со цел негување на македонската култура и традиција.
– Веќе станува традиција, ние, Македонците со потекло од Мала Преспа, кои живееме во Канада и Америка, да се собереме по повод православниот празник Свети Архангел и Михаил. Овој ден преставува добра можност за сите нас да се дружиме, веселиме, но и да позборуваме за нашиот роден крај населен со етничко чисто македонско население, додава Владимир за весникот „Македониум“.
