Од денеска до недела во норвешкиот главен град Осло ќе се одржи годишната Конференција на Воениот комитет на НАТО посветена на зајакнување на одвраќањето и одбранбената положба на Пактот, на која ќе присуствуваат началниците на генералштабовите на вооружените сили на земјите членки на Алијансата. 

Како што соопшти НАТО, на Конференцијата, чиј домаќин е началникот на Генералштабот на норвешките Вооружени сили, генералот Еирик Кристоферсен, учесниците ќе ги разгледаат одлуките донесени од шефовите на држави или влади на Самитот во Вилнус во јули годинава насочени кон зајакнување на одбраната и одвраќањето на долг рок, во сите домени и против сите закани и предизвици. 

Во соопштението се посочува дека клучни во таа насока се регионалните планови дизајнирани за одвраќање и одбрана од двете закани наведени во Стратешкиот концепт и воената стратегија на НАТО – Русија и терористичките групи.  

– Ова е дел од еволуцијата на НАТО од Алијанса оптимизирана за вонредни операции, до Алијанса подготвена за операции од големи размери за одбрана на секоја педа од сојузничката територија, се посочува во најавата за Конференцијата. 

Како што јави специјалниот известувач на МИА од Брисел, началниците на генералштабовите на средбата ќе разговараат за начините како овие регионални планови да се направат целосно извршни, меѓу другото и со зголемување на бројот војници со повисоко ниво на готовност, градење и развој на капацитети, прилагодување на командните и контролните структури на НАТО, засилена обука за колективна одбрана,  

зајакната логистика и воена мобилност, како и поддршка на земјите во кои се стационирани заедничките сили. 

Воениот комитет на НАТО на ниво на началници на генералштабовите се состанува двапати годишно во седиштето на Алијансата во Брисел, а еднаш годишно се одржува Конференција организирана во некоја земја членка. Комитетот се состанува за да разговара за операциите, мисиите и активностите на НАТО и да му обезбеди на Северноатлантскиот совет воени препораки засновани на консензус за тоа како Алијансата може најдобро да се справи со глобалните безбедносни предизвици.
