  SPE, WARSAW AUTUMN OF POETRY
TO FORM INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF EUROPEAN LITERARY FESTIVALS

(SPE) - the most prestigious poetry festival in the world - and the manifestation "Warsaw Autumn of Poetry" have launched an initiative to establish an International Association of European Literary Festivals in an attempt to affirm Europe's literary values, thus affirming the national literatures of Poland and Macedonia, MIA reports from Warsaw.
This is the focal point of the cooperation agreement between SPE and Warsaw Autumn of Poetry signed Wednesday by festivals' presidents Slave Gjorgjo Dimoski and Marek Wawrzkiewicz. Macedonia's SPE delegation also includes authors Branko Cvetkoski and Petre Nakovski. The signing ceremony was attended by Macedonian Ambassador to Warsaw Dimko Kokaroski.
In the frameworks of the initiative, both festivals pledged to stimulate the existing active literary festivals and gatherings on the Balkans and in Europe and to include them in the organisational structure of the International Association of European Literary Festivals, which will be set up next spring in Warsaw.
- My belief is that by signing the agreement for literary cooperation between SPE and the Warsaw Autumn of Poetry, a major and serious endeavour is being initiated for assembling Europe's poetry and literary festivals into the Association, which will allow the national literatures in Europe to communicate. The agreement is also an attempt to affirm Macedonia's literature and culture, stated SPE president Dimoski after signing the agreement.
