  DEPUTY PM KONEVSKA-TRAJKOVSKA PARTICIPATES AT COE SECOND SUMMER UNIVERSITY FOR DEMOCRACY

Gabriela Konevska-Trajkovski, Deputy PM in charge of European Affairs Thursday is paying a one-day visit to Strasbourg to participate at the Council of Europe Second Summer University for Democracy.
She will address the round table, devoted to "50 years after the Treaties of Rome: Where is the European Project?".
Konevska - Trajkovska will hold several bilateral meetings as well as with Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer Buquicchio.
The event, which gathers about 600 representatives of the Council of Europe (CoE) member countries, was opened by CoE Secretary General Terry Davis.
Parliamentary Assembly Vice President Göran Lindblad and Philippe Richert, Vice-Chairman of the French Senate and several other commissioners of the Council of Europe are to participate.

BALKAN NEWS AGENCIES TO EHNANCE COOPERATION

Balkan news agencies, among which the Macedonian Information Agency (MIA), will strengthen their mutual cooperation through creation of a special network for information exchange titled WEB-DEP.
Establishment of such communication zone will be carried out through the realization of project Western Balkans Democratic Participation (WEB-DEP), supported by funds of the European Commission Programme for Information Society Technologies.
The project foresses inclusion of government institutions, national news agencies and all citizens of Western Balkan countries in E-democratic processes, through a single system developed on the basis of determined procedures and a joint ethical code.
The project, which envisages creation of a single communication area for exchange of views and experiences on activities of government institutions and public opinion creation, was launched on January 1 and will last in the next two year.
Besides MIA, the project also includes seven partners from Albania, Great Britain, Greece and Serbia, among which agencies ATA, ANA and TANJUG.
The project's idea is establishment of a Platform for Electronic Participation (E-participation) in presentation of positions and debates on issues related to the Western Balkan region, while population in general would be the end user, but also certain state institutions, such as parliaments, governments and ministries, business community and other interested groups.
They will all be addressed through series of joint forums, such as significant European conferences related to E-Government, E-Democracy and issues of E-participation, but also through separate specialized editions of news agencies.

BALKAN FESTIVAL OF FOLK SONGS AND DANCES BEGINS IN OHRID

Ensemble of folk songs and dances "Tanec" will open late Thursday in Ohrid the 46th Balkan Festival of Folk Songs and Dances.
Besides "Tanec", the festival program includes the performances of 11 other ensembles and cultural-artistic clubs with about 500 participants.
Ohrid will host renowned ensembles and cultural-artistic clubs, which nurture folklore, from Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey, Montenegro, Bosnia&Herzegovina, but also Australia and Indonesia.
Parliament Vice-Speaker Ivan Anastasovski will declare the festival open.

  TOP OFFICIALS TO MEET ON ISSUE OF ARM PROPERTY TRANSFORMATION

President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Defense Minister Lazar Elenovski and Chief of Macedonian Army (ARM) Staff Miroslav Stojanovski will meet Thursday on the issue of ARM property transformation.
The meeting follows after Tuesday's correspondence between the President and the Government over the competencies regarding transformation or selling of ARM property.
In a letter addressed to PM Gruevski, Crvenkovski said he was surprised that the Government decided to transfer part of the ARM real estate without respecting the competences, procedures and the Law on Defense, according to which the President is in charge of the ARM organization and structure.
President Branko Crvenkovski has been informed by the Defense Minister Lazar Elenovski about all ideas of the Government for transformation of the ARM real estate, Government's spokesman Ivica Bocevski said Tuesday in regard to the President's letter to Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
