  GREECE HOPES OF COMMON ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR THE NAME

Official Athens expects from the new Macedonian government to show interest for collaboration with Greece in order a common solution to be find for the dispute of the name. Under common acceptable solution implies a name for Macedonia and for international usage and for bilateral communication with Greece. The greed vice-minister of foreign affairs, Janis Valinakis, hopes that the new government will be interested in the spirit of collaboration to find a common acceptable solution for the name.
After the statements given by the mandator Nikola Gruevskinad by the future chief of diplomacy Antonio Miloshovski, Valinakis stated that the negotiations between Athens and Skopje under a patronage by UN are referring to the issue of the international name of the neighbor country. According to Valinakis, that is a topic of the negotiations, and not the way which Greece is calling it. He also says that any other action put them under distrust, even undermines the substance and the sense of the negotiated procedure in the frames of UN, and also is not appropriating to the European perspective of the country and its agreements.
 
     
  THE EU SEEKING

Bettering of the economy isn’t only a priority of the Macedonian citizens, but also a base seeking of the EU in order to open the path towards negotiations for membership. In front of the new Macedonian government a giant economic construction yard has been up righted, Brussels evaluates.
“In the following four years Macedonia should pass a significant part of the way to entry the EU, and the journey is impossible without building ability for managing with the market forces and the competition in the EU.
A large part of the European Commission’s thinking about our country is dedicated exactly to the economy and gives clear directions for the new government’s work”, Brussels says.

BOSHKOVSKI’S HEALTH?

The health of the former minister of interior affairs Ljube Boshkovski is getting worse, so his wife Violeta set off to Hague to visit him. The lawyer Edina Rashidovic informed the Court Council of the Tribunal for the condition in which his client is. According to her information, he received medical treatment in the jail of Scheveningen, and she hopes that Boshkovski soon will be in good physical and psychic condition.

 
     
  “TETOVO FOLK FEST” IN LESHOK

This year “Tetovo folk fest” will be held on 27th of August in the Leshok monastery for the 12th time. 30 new composed national songs in the spirit of the authentic Macedonian song and national musical creation will be presented at the annual festival. The festival will be realized in occasion of the monastery’s patron marking of the holiday Ascension of Holly Mother of God, that will begin with ceremonial evening liturgy from the eparchic prelate the metropolitan Poloshko-Kumanovski Mr. Kiril. On 28th of August in the renewed monastery church “St. Atanasij” in the village Leshok, Mr. Kiril will serve a holly prelate liturgy, where after that will follow a rich cultural-art program.
 
     
 

ANOTHER OHRID SUMMER ENDED

With few spectacular, with many musical events and few attractive theatrical plays, another biggest summer international festival “Ohrid summer” has past with the finishing concert by the choir “Madrigal” from Romania. 50 concerts, most of classical music, theatrical plays, ballets’ projects and concerts by jazz and rock groups in the past 40 days were performed in the Antic theatre, in Lower Saraj, in the church “St. Sofia” and in the cultural centre “Grigor Prichev” in Ohrid. Twenty musicians, actors, vocalists and dancers from twenty countries from the world attended the festival. According to many our artists, who followed a part of the contents, festival passed with good but not with exclusive program. Among the comments that could be heard in Ohrid are, that many names from the top of the world and of the popular art scene were missing.

 
     
  IT’S EARLY FOR DECREASING THE TAXES

The recommendations by IMF for Macedonia are that it’s too early for decreasing of the taxes and for slacker spending of the collected fund from the bonds. The estimation is based on the gathered economic and financial information for the Macedonian economy and from the discussion with the officials. Although 2005 finished with outdone of the revenues, IMF estimated that still is insecure how many budget means can be gathered this year.
 
     
  EUROPEAN DONATION FOR VINICA AND BANSKO

The Macedonian municipality of Vinica and Bansko from Bulgaria received 600.000 euros by the EU for collaboration in the keeping of the life environment and cultural-historical heritage. A declaration for partnership in project of PHARE program of the EU for over border collaboration has been signed by representatives of the municipalities. In accordance with the project “A constant development through eco-tourism, cultural tourism and supporting of the cultural-historic heritage”, a financing of important objects in the both municipalities is been predicted.
 
     
  “I’M FROM TITOV VELES”

The first step of shooting of the movie “I’m from Titov Veles”, which’s script-writer and producer is Teona Mitevska, was realized at the railway bridge in Veles. The shooting will last 40 days on location in Veles, Skopje and Dojran. The movie team is in full composition and is satisfied from the pre-producing preparations. The story “I’m from Titov Veles” is about three sisters from Veles, who live in the chaos pf the post-socialistic transition. The three sisters are trying to survive, although they are not prepared for the cruelness that awaits them.
 
     
  SPIRITUAL WARRIOR FOR THE MOST NOBLY WORK

The pawning for preaching of the Macedonian language for father Nikodim Carknjas outgrown in a battle for the language of its nation. With calmness and persistence in it he has grown in a spiritual warrior for the most nobly work, for the spiritual and national identity of his nation. That’s how the priest from the Aegean part of Macedonia was presented during the receiving of the recognition “Spiritual warrior” by the “Macedonian spiritual hospices” in Struga.
“I’ll continue my activity until that is allowed by God, I’ll work on realization of the religious freedoms and right of the Macedonians all over the world”, archimandrite Carknjas stated. He is born is Sbotsko, Aegean prt of Macedonia, 64 years ago.
 
     
  THE EU’S REVIEW OF THE AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

For 10 days experts from the EU are coming in the country to check the agricultural development in the country. The purpose is to check the country’s readiness for using of the pre-funds that Brussels is giving to the country-members for membership in the Union. But, Macedonia still hasn’t vote the law of agricultural activity and rural development, which is a basic condition for beginning of the procedure for seeking means from those funds. Law preposition e ready and can be voted till the end of the year.
“If the Assembly voted the law till the end of the year, then there are chances first funds by the European funds to be in the country in 2008”, the government says. According to the confirmed budget of the EU, Turkey and five countries from Western Balkan from the European funds IPA have 7.6 billion euros for disposal in the period from 2007 to 2013. From this funds, Macedonia can expects 80 million euros annually.   STRUGA POETRY EVENINGS BEGIN

The 45th edition of international poetry festival Struga Poetry Evenings will begin Thursday at the plateau in front of Struga home of culture with the reading of verses Sorrow for the South (T'ga za jug) by Konstantin Miladinov in Spanish and Macedonian languages.
This year's Golden Wreath will be presented to Cuban poetess Nancy Morejon, who is the second woman to receive this prestigious poetic recognition.
The 4-day festival will include the participation of 35 poets from the entire world and the same number of domestic poets, who will discuss on the multimedia trait of modern poetic work and relation of verses towards other arts.
The manifestation will be comprised of the usual content, such as international poetry reading Meridians, a symposium, a poetic evening dedicated to the authors from the Caribbean, reading Nights without Punctuation, along with the promotion of collections Pleiads and anthologies of domestic poetry.
The festival's official part closes with manifestation Bridges, when the Golden Wreath will be presented to Nancy Morejon, while young Russian poetess Maria Marovna-Gejde will be given award Bridges of Struga, which Struga Poetry Evenings and UNESCO allocate to young authors for their debut poetry collections.
The festival will be completed with the poetry reading in multimedia center Mala Stanica in Skopje on August 29.
