ANNIVERSARY OF ALEXANDER’S
DEATH
On 13th of June 2329 years are marked from the death of the Macedonian giant
Alexander III Macedonian, son of Philip II. Alexander lived 33 years, but
for him and for his works has been talked till today. He set off ahead with
the Macedonian phalanx to unite the Macedonians in which he succeeded. His
mission has lasted whole 12 years. Cuckolded by “his men” he was poisoned in
323BC, with which the great Alexander’s expedition has finished. |

“MUST BE FAIR”
On the 13th of June, in the representatives’ club, 30 political parties have
signed the Codex of behaving for free and fair parliament elections. Among
the signatories are also Vlado Buckovski, Nikola Gruevski and Arben Djaferi.
Representatives from the international community, including the
representatives of EU, NATO, OSCE, ODIHR as well as ambassadors of many
states were present at the event. The event was followed by the National
democratic institute (NDI), by MOST and by the Macedonian women lobby. |

WITH
ELECTION FRAUD TO BETRAYAL
The US ambassador in Macedonia, Gilian Milovanovic , in the interview for
one Macedonian daily newspaper, stated that our country is on a good track,
and it’s good that all parties have same purpose – an integration in the
Euro Atlantic institutions. Also she added that representative from the
international community are indicating to the political parties to be
careful and all to understand the importance of that issue. That is a
competition between parties that want to conquer the magistracy and that is
normal. But the ambassador Milovanovic says that if that will be done with
fraud, then that is a betrayal of the democracy and of the citizens. |

THE MOST IMPORTANT TEST – FAIR ELECTIONS
The secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer came in a visit of
Macedonia to repeat to the authorities and to the politicians that they
mustn’t make a mistake t the upcoming parliament elections. Scheffer said
that that is also related with the progression towards our membership in the
Alliance and with receiving positive news from the NATO Summit appointed in
Riga for the end of this year.
“On the fifth of July the period when you should make the most important
progress follows, and that are your parliament elections. As a Secretary
General of NATO I want to say that I’m 110% neutral and that I didn’t come
to involve in any way in the upcoming election campaign. But I want to
underline that the most important test will be if the election are 110%
fully free, peaceful and fair. That is the key criterion after which
Macedonia will be evaluated, to see that is possible to have that kind of
elections”, Scheffer stated after the meeting with the PM Buckovski. |

THE TURKISH PRIME MINISTER IN MACEDONIA
The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with high delegation arrived
in Macedonia. During the visit he met with the PM Vlado Buckovski, and
during the bilateral talks they spoke about the economic collaboration
between the two states, about the concrete support that Turkey gives to
Macedonia for membership in NATO, as well as for the support of the politic
that the Macedonian Government is leading for building of functional
multiethnic society. In occasion of this visit, Chamber of commerce of
Macedonia organized Macedonian–Turkish business council, where Erdogan and
Buckovski addressed to around 250 businessmen. |

MONTENEGRO RECOGNIZED BY
MACEDONIA
The republic of Macedonia officially recognized Montenegro as independent
and sovereign state. This was announced by PM Vlado Buckovski informing the
public that the decision has been brought at the government session and that
a formal procedure for naming authorized ambassador of the Republic of
Macedonia in Podgorica, has began.
Also the minister of foreign affairs of the EU state-members made a decision
for recognition of the independence of Montenegro. |

RE-BRANDING OF MOBIMAK INTO
T-MOBILE
Recently, Mobimak has announcer the re-branding into T-Mobile that began
with a decision by the Board of directors of the company in February this
year. It’s been planned to be finished at the beginning of September 2006,
wherewith Mobimak together with its users becomes a part of T-Mobile.
Namely, T-Mobile is a brand with a world reputation, brand leader in Central
and in Eastern Europe. Michael Gunter, a member of the Board of directors in
T-Mobile International, Rubin Zareski, main executive director of Mobimak
and Atila Sendrei, main executive director of AD Makedonski Telekomunikacii
were speaking at the announcement of the re-branding. |

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IS
OBLIGATORY?
According to the questionnaire that was made by the Centre for research and
crating of political, the minority of the questioned citizens are thinking
that the religious education should be obligatory in the elementary
education. It should be held once weekly and the teaching to be carry out by
theologians. Mr. Mr. Stefan agrees with that. Continuing of the religious
heritage and customs and strengthening of the mutual tolerance are the
answer of the question that is the main purpose of introduction og religious
education in the public education in the country. |

CONGRESS OF THE DOCTORS FROM GENERAL MEDICINE
Around 1.000 doctors are participating at the First congress of doctors from
general family medicine from the South-eastern European countries that was
held in Ohrid. At this Congress, according to Jovan Tofovski, president of
the Macedonian medical association, experiences in the part of the family
medicine for solving the problems that will appear during the appropriation
of the health reform, have been exchanged.
Doctors from Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece,
Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro and Turkey are participating at the
congress. |

A WORLD DAY OF THE BLOOD
DONATORS
Under the motto “Let us celebrate the blood donating”, the Red Cross of
Macedonia and the republic institution for transfusion have marked the Word
day of the blood-donating. The central manifestation, followed with
associating and song, was held in Skopje in front of the plateau of the ARM
institute. |

MACEDONIAN EXPOSITION IN
NEW YORK
In organization of the National gallery of Macedonia in the Macedonian
cultural centre in New York, the exposition “Memorarium” by the Macedonian
lady artist Dijana Tomic Radevska was opened. The exposition covers works
from the last years, including many coal-beds graphics, objects, video
installations etc. it is opened till the 4th of July 2006. |

MEETING OF THE EURO-REGION
SKOPJE-SOFIA-NIS
Mayors of the Euro-Region Skopje-Sofia-Nis will hold talks today in
Bulgarian capital on future projects to be realized in the region.
Skopje's mayor Trifun Kostovski and mayors of Nis and Sofia, Smiljko Kostic
and Boiko Borisov will attend the meeting.
Signing of agreement on transfer of the presidency with the Euro-Region from
Nis to Sofia is announced.
Mayors Kostovski, Kostic and Borisov on their last meeting in Skopje sent a
message that they share the same goal, making the Balkans a decent place for
living. |
