  MITREVA AND MORATINOS SIGNED THE READMISSION AGREEMENT

The Macedonian minister of foreign affairs, Ilinka Mitreva and the chief if the Spanish diplomacy, Miguel Anhel Moratinos, who is visiting Macedonia signed the readmission agreement in Skopje.
In their mutual statement after the meeting the minister Mitreva accented:
“The agreement that we signed it today with the minister Moratinos is another step forward in the liberalization process of the visa regime, and we expected that an official dialog with EU will begin for it”. The Spanish minister Morations reminds again that the signed agreement is part of the global immigration policy of Spain, and that with it the citizens of Macedonia can travel legally and regularly. During this year Embassy of Spain will be open in Skopje. That, as Moratinos said, will enable straightening not only in the bilateral relations political level, but will also enable the members of the business community of Spain to attend in the economical improvement of Macedonia.
 
     
  BUCKOVSKI IN A VISIT TO LIBYA

The Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski, who is in two-day visit to Libya, in Tripoli has met with the Libyan Prime Minister Shukri Ganem.
They were talking about the political and economical relations between the two countries and about the possibilities for their deepening. In function of market opening, the presidents of the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia and of the Federation of the Libyan trade-industrial and chambers of agricultural, Branko Azevski and Muhamed Husein Kanun, have signed agreement for cooperation. The Macedonian delegation is also coming back from Tripoli with agreements for potential cooperation in the area of the economy, health and construction. It’s agreed, for businessmen from Libya to come to Skopje on invitation by the Chamber of Commerce in the second half of May, and the two chambers continuously will exchange information about all possibilities and tenders, which will be opened.
Also the Macedonian and the Libyan minister of health had a meeting. It’s been evaluated that on the basis of the experience gained so far has a need of inclusion of Macedonian medical professional personal in the health system of the Libyan Arabic Jamahiriya. The minister Vlado Dimov announced that there’re possibilities for expansion of the cooperation and in the area of the pharmacy.
The minister of transport and communications Djemail Mezahi talked again with the representatives of the Libyan government about the possibilities of making legal act for civil air navigation that will means establishment air-link of the Libyan Arabic Jamahiriya with the Balkan.
 
     
 

UNIFICATION OF THE MACEDONIAN EMIGRANTS

The Macedonians from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia and from Serbia will unify to operate in the decision of the national rights in their countries. This is a point from the two-day all-Macedonian commemoration, which was held in Prilep, on initiative by the Citizen’s initiative for national, spiritual and cultural unification of the Macedonian people, on the topic “Realization of the human and national rights in the context of the euro integration processes”.
“The Macedonians from Gora are forgotten by the Macedonian authorities. That’s why we organized ourselves, requesting for double nationality and learning of the Macedonian language in the schools in the countries where we live”, sad Ismail Bojda from the Association of the Gorans.
The Macedonians in Bulgaria say that this country still, despite the positive convictions by the Court in Strasburg, doesn’t accept their minority rights.

 
     
  MACEDONIAN VIRTUAL LIBRARY

Last year the National and university library “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Skopje, promoted the implementation of the library-informational system COBISS.MK, as a part of the project COBISS. Net in which library-informational systems from Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are included. This project is enabling to all institutions from Macedonia, which are connected in the system COBISS.MK, to take over freely and to use the data from the library-informational systems of the other countries for their needs. In the frames of the promotion the Center NUV-VLM (National and University library-Virtual Library of Macedonia) was represented. This system represents library-informational service of the COBISS.MK system, with a task to coordinate the development of this system, to give a professional help and services to the users, to do education of the users for using of the program COBISS support, as well as other tasks which are resulting by its function. One year of the functioning of this center was celebrated on 3rd of February.
 
     
 

134 YEARS FROM THE BIRTH OF GOCE DELCEV

On 4th of February in the church “St. Spas” in Skopje was celebrated the 134 year of the birth of the Macedonian revolutionist and visionary Goce Delcev. The celebration was held in the frames of the international manifestation “Gocevi Denovi”.
Fresh flowers in front of the monument of Goce Delcev in the City Park were also laid by the delegations of MOC, Assembly of the manifestation “Gocevi Denovi”, ARM, the Association of the fighters, MANU, the Assembly of the city of Skopje and by the Municipality Centar.

 
     
  THE COUNCIL OF SPE ANNOUNCED THE LAUREATE

The poetess Nansi Morehon from Cuba is the winner of the “Golden wreath “on the Struga’s poetry evenings, the board of the Festival has announced. The handing of this poetry award will be on the 45th edition of SPE in Struga on 24th of August. According to the president of the Board of the Manifestation, Zoran Ancevski, it was decided this year the winner to be a poetess, among the other, and because till now the “Golden Wreath” was wan only by one woman. The poetry of Morehon is translated on English, Portugal, French, Italian, Russian, German, Polish and Dutch language. Lines by Morehon are also represented in a big number of literary magazines and anthologies of the world poetry. For her creation positive critics were told by a large number of literary people from USA and Great Britain, countries in which the books of Morehon were translated in big anthological collections.
 
     
  OUR OLYMPIANS IN TORINO

The Macedonian three-member competitive expedition set off to Torino, on the 20th Winter Olympic Games. The alpinists Ivana Ivcevska and Gjorgi Markovski, as well as the Nordic Darko Damjanovski will defend the colors of Macedonia. All of them are debating on the Olympic scene. Ivcevska is the youngest member of our Olympic structure. With only 17 years she obtained for chance to ski in front of the whole world. The 20 year old Markovski has the honor to carry the Macedonian flag on the inauguration of the Games. His expectations are also bigger in the slalom. This is the third participation of Macedonia on WOG. The début was in Nagano in 1998, and meanwhile we didn’t succeed to enlarge the number of our attendance. The first Olympic team was consist by Jana Nikolovska, Aleksandar Stojanovski and Gjoko Dinevski, while four years later in Salt Lake City the place of Stojanovski was replaced with Dejan Panovski, but Nikolovka didn’t attend because of injury.
 
     
  THE MACEDONIAN MEETINGS IN THE SPIRIT OF “EUROPE WITHOUT BORDERS”

“The Dionysus’ commemorative service - Minu Ugrinovska”, will be held on 24th and 25th of February 2006, in the cinema-hall of the Youth cultural center in Skopje with beginning at 8.00 pm by the in the organization of the Cultural centre “Skrb i Uteha”. All-Macedonian meetings of theatre, books, speeches, folklore, art, xylographic and movie. Meetings of the Macedonian culture of Macedonia, and of the Macedonian culture of the neighbor states from Golo Brdo, Prespa, Gora, Pirin, the Rodops, the Aegean part of Macedonia as well as Macedonian guests with their culture from Romania and turkey. Let us break the last European-Macedonian wall, not with hate and killings but with free Macedonian culture. We want Freedom for the European and the Macedonian culture. Europe without borders - Macedonia without borders.   NATO'S SECRETARY GENERAL DEPUTY ASSISTANT SIMMONS TO VISIT MACEDONIA

Bob Simmons, NATO's Secretary General Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Security Cooperation and Partnership, will arrive Thursday to Macedonia for meetings with the country leadership.
Simmons is scheduled to meet Thursday President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski, Vice-Premier Musa Xhaferi, Justice, Finance and Local-Government Ministers - Meri Mladenovska-Gjorgievska, Nikola Popovski and Rizavan Sulejmani.
He will also give a lecture on NATO ahead of Riga Summit at the Skopje University.
On Friday, Simmons will meet Defense, Interior and Foreign Ministers - Jovan Manasijevski, Ljubomir Mihajlovski and Ilinka Mitreva.
He will also meet representatives of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security.

PARLIAMENT RESUMES DEBATE ON LAW ON PUBLIC GATHERING

The Macedonian Parliament will resume Thursday the 122nd session focusing on tabled amendments to the Law on Public Gathering.
The draft-law on amending the Law on Public Gathering, which was endorsed by the Government, foresees banning public gatherings in front of the kindergartens, healthcare facilities, highways and local roads.
The deputies will also debate on Draft on passing the Law on State Market Inspectorate, Draft on passing the Law on Food Safety Products, as well as on Draft Law on Foreigners.
The Draft on passing the Law on Protection of Rights and Dignity of Handicapped, Draft on passing the Law on Equal Opportunities of Men and Women and Draft Law on Bankruptcy are also on the agenda of the 122nd session.
