BUCKOVSKI: MACEDONIA NEEDS
SCANDINAVIAN ELECTS
The Prime Minister of Macedonia Vlado Buckovski held a meeting with his
coalition partners, the leaders of LDP and DUI, Risto Penov and Ali Ahmeti,
on which, as he stated, it was discussed about many topics. One of them were
the constitutional amendments, in which, as Buckovski said, an agreement for
finding common compromise with the opposition was achieved, respectively to
accept part of the objection, with which will come to modification to the
constitution, with more votes not only two-thirds of majority.
“Second priority after the constitutional amendments’ implementation is
bringing the new electing legislation. We are prepared to seek compromise
solutions and talk with the opposition in wider debate, with purpose of
finding solutions that will be good basis for organizing of fair and
democratic elects”, Buckovski stated.
Buckovski, as he pointed out, there wasn’t any discuss about any preliminary
elects, because before that according to the positive opinion there should
be enacted series of laws, respectively the law for police, which is part of
the Ohrid agreement, then establishing one-stop system, as well as bringing
changing in the electing legislation, which is been assumed that will happen
in the middle of January.
As more important segment Buckovski highlighted the maintaining fair and
democratic elects which, as he said, they should be Scandinavian, while
about the unofficial called reconstruction of the Government, the Prime
Minister underlined that that can be considered but after getting the status
candidate for Macedonia about the membership in EU, which should be in
December. |

THE RELATIVES OF THE KIDNAP
ONES DISAPPOINTED FROM THE INSTITUTIONS
The consequences from the 2001 conflict still can be seen. The relatives of
the 12 kidnapped Macedonian from Tetovo area at the time of the conflict in
2001 are passing trough new intrigues and disappointing from the
institutions. According to them all authorized keep silent about this crime,
which the Hag Tribune returned them in the authority of Macedonian
jurisdiction.
The families also felt a big indignation towards the attorney Zoja Lega
Stanoevska, which appealed the recent court decision for suffering
immaterial loss to the families, who lost their nearest ones.

80 YEARS FROM ATHEN’S
PUBLUSHING OF THE MACEDONIAN PRIMER
On 14th of November in the Macedonian academy for science and art a Gala
meeting was held on the occasion of 80 years from publishing the Athens’
abecedary, the first Macedonian abecedary published by the Greek government.
The meeting was opened by academic Zuzana Topoljinska, and academic Balze
Ristovski was talking about it.
“It’s a matter of amazing important issue published in 1925 by the Greek
government. It was prepared by eminent Greek adepts, and appeared under
pressure of the League of Nations in Geneva, because of realization of the
national minority rights of the population in the part that went to Greece
with the agreement from 1913”, academic Blaze Ristevski stated. |

SONK ON A MASS PROTEST?
The independent Union of education, science and culture SONK received a
letter from the minister of labor and social policy Stevco Jakimovski this
Friday, in which he guide them to go in court with SONK of Veselinka
Trajkovska, to prove who is legitimate to represent the interests of the
employees in these activities. This letter, according to Dojcin Cvetanovski,
was the only reason for deciding to give a deadline to the government for
answering them about continuing the negotiations for confirmation of the
lowest salary. If that won’t happen, SONK threaten on the press-conference
with a mass social protest which will be on 23rd this month.
The Unions will also seek for an irreversible resignation by the minister
Jakimovski. |

TOBACCONISTS WHITOUT
SUPPORT
In the budget of the country for the next year stimulation for tobacco
producers is not predicted. The governmental money will be spending only for
new kinds of tobacco. The Government pointed out that in the budget also
there is no money for direct helping for the producers of tobacco. Nothing
from the announcement of the 10 million euros, which trough the new law for
tobacco should return back directly to the tobacco producers.
According to the government calculation, this money that should go in to the
budget, with the new rise in prices by 10% will finance the whole family and
not jus the tobacco. The producers react on this. The tobacco is ready for
selling. The tobacconists are pleased with the breed, but they don’t know
how the labor will be evaluated. From the tobacco combine was announced that
for the annual breed the old prices will be valid. |

THE CLINIC CENTER ANNOUNCES
STRIKE
“If the administration of the Clinic Center and the Ministry of health won’t
answer positively on the demand for 100% rice on salary, the employees will
renew the strike”, the union informed. According to the announcements,
renewal of the talks with Andreja Arsovski, director of the Clinical center
is expecting. The decision for activating the strike depends on the results
of the talks. During the last month the management offered increase of 5-6%,
which, according to the union is very little. About the strike which was
held last month, the management cut off five daily wages to 260 employees,
calling out to the law of working relation. |

TRAJANOV AND DAUTOVSKI ON
GALA-CONCERT IN PARIS
In the honor of the 6 decades jubilee of UNESCO, which was held on the 16th
of November this year in Paris, the opera singer Boris Trajanov and the
musician Dragan Dautovski had their appearance there. Boris Trajanov sang
two arias by Verdi, while Dautovski had his appearance with the World
orchestra of the traditional instruments and with the orchestra of the
Paris’ Philharmonic Society.
On this jubilee Trajanov and Dautovski begin together with world reputation
performers - the Russian pianist Sergej Markarov and the Japanese soprano
Rie Hamada.
Otherwise in January this year Boris Trajanov won the prestige title “peace
artist of UNESCO”, and he is the only artist from Macedonia and one of the
few in the world with that kind of title.
It is expected that after the concert in Paris, Trajanov will appeared in
the production of the “Toska” opera in Italy. |

130 YEARS FROM THE BIRTH OF
VOJDAN POP GEORGIEV CERNODRINSKI
Today, in organization of the Cultural center “Skrb i uteha” on the scene of
the drama Faculty, a central manifestation in honor of 130 years from the
birth of the Macedonian theatrical apostle Vojdan Pop Georgiev Cernodrinski
will be held. The poet and writer Petre Basevski will promote the roman “The
face of God” by Tihomir Stojanovski on the manifestation, and part of the
roman will be played by the actors Aleksandar Djurovski and Strashko
Miloshevski. Also, parts of the plays of the theatre “Skrb i Uteha” will be
played in the honor of Cernodrinski’s birthday. |

PM BUCKOVSKI PAYS OFFICIAL VISIT TO
SLOVENIA
Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski will pay Thursday an official
visit to Slovenia, upon an invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Janez
Jansa.
Macedonian and Slovenian Prime Ministers will discuss the improvement of
bilateral relations, as well as increasing of economic cooperation between
both countries.
One of the topics of the meeting will be the using of Slovenian experience
on the Macedonian road to the European Union and NATO and more active
lobbying of Slovenia for full-fledged membership of Macedonia in the
Euro-Atlantic institutions.
Buckovski, besides meeting with Jansa, will meet Slovenian President Janez
Drnovsek and Parliament Speaker France Cukjati, and will hold talks with
European Parliament member and leader of Liberal Party of Slovenia, Jelko
Kacin, member of EP Borut Pahor, as well as Ljubljana mayor Danica Simshic.
Macedonian Prime Minister will open Macedonian-Slovenian business forum that
will take place in Slovenian Chamber of Commerce.
The two-day official visit to Slovenia PM Buckovski will end with the
meeting of Macedonian emigrants who live and work in Slovenia.
Buckovski, as PM Cabinet's press release reads, will express satisfaction by
high level of friendly relations and continuos development of the political
dialogue. For Macedonia the relations and cooperation with Slovenia are of
priority and strategic importance, especially from aspect of its accession
to the Euro-Atlantic structures.
Macedonian and Slovenian Prime Ministers will discuss current
political-economic situation in the region, Macedonia's foreign-policy
priorities, as well as activities for Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
Agreement on changes of the Agreement for Economic Cooperation, a
Declaration for Exchanging Practice and Experience in Euro-integration
Process between Customs Administrations of Macedonia and Slovenia will be
signed.
Both Prime Ministers will welcome the establishing of Slovenian-Macedonian
business club, which will initiate new possibilities for boosting of
cooperation, especially in the investments sector.
A trend for increasing of commercial exchange between both countries has
been registered since 2001. Slovenia invests in banking sector, tobacco
industry and tourism.
PM Buckovski will express satisfaction by the treatment and help that
Slovenia has been giving to Macedonian emigrants (from 10,000 to 12,000
persons) in their organizing and acting, aiming at preserving and promoting
of their national, cultural, language and religious identity, as well as for
their own affirmation in this country.
Macedonia expects Slovenia's support regarding the receiving access to the
EU financial instruments.
Through successful realization of twining project for harmonization of
legislation of the internal market, Slovenia, as the press release reads,
has showed a positive example of concrete support towards Macedonia.
BORIS TRAJANOV TO SING AT
UNESCO'S 60TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT GALA
Macedonian opera singer Boris Trajanov Wednesday will perform at a concert
gala that will be held at the UNESCO Hall in Paris to mark the 60th
anniversary of the world organization.
Trajanov is the only representative of Macedonia and one in few artists in
the world who have won prestigious UNESCO Artist of Peace. The award was
handed to him personally by the UNESCO Director General Koïchiro Matsuura in
February 2005.
Trajanov will sing two arias in the concert. He will perform together with
Russian famous pianist Sergey Markarov, the winner of numerous international
awards and UNESCO Artist of Peace as the soloist of the Concert for Piano
and Orchestra no. 12 by Mozart and Japanese soprano Rie Hamada in performing
compositions by modern French composer Nicholas Bahri. |
