The Trade Union is against
the announced restrictions
The Trade Union of Macedonia is against the announced restrictions in the
social or more precisely in the labor rights which were presented by the
delegation of the World Bank to them. The opinion of the Trade Union is that
this kind of restrictions are not acceptable, incorrect and absolutely not
analytical according to the real aims. Also, the restrictions are moving in
the direction of replacement of the collective with the individual
contracting of the capital’s representatives. They are reducing the right of
the workers in case of redundancies, firing, in case of year’s vacation and
other similar rights.

US RECOGNISED REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA
UNDER CONSTITUTIONAL NAME
The Greek Foreign Ministry
confirmed Thursday that Greek Government received an information concerning
the imminent recognition of Macedonia under its constitutional name,
Macedonian Information Agency reports, referring to the statement of the
Macedonian diplomatic sources in Athens.
The most authentic confirmation for the news from Washington is the official
communiqué that the Greek Government has received Thursday morning by the US
State Department, saying that the US recognised Macedonia under its
constitutional name.
Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is due to hold a press conference
regarding this issue.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman George Koumoutsakos said, "indeed this
information exists," adding that Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis after
consulting with Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, has cancelled his trip to
Brussels where he was due to attend the European Council meeting.
"There is, in fact, information to that effect. In light of that, and
following consultation with the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Molyviatis
cancelled his trip to Brussels. He informed the President of the Republic
and the leaders of the Political Parties. The Foreign Minister summoned US
Ambassador Miller and will receive him in his office, at 12:00 hours,"
Koumoutsakos.
Foreign Minister Molyviatis called US Ambassador to Athens Thomas Miller to
his office and issued a strong demarche, Greek media reported.
Greek Minister of Interior Prokopis Pavlopoulos said that there are concrete
resolutions of the UN and that the Greek Government would protect the
interests of Greece without any exceptions.
BBC as breaking news, informed that Greece's Foreign Ministry has summoned
the US ambassador over reports that Washington has recognised Greece's
northern neighbour as Macedonia. The media in its headlines says -
"Macedonia" strains Greek-US ties.
The Greek National Agency ANA reported "Greek Foreign Ministry confirmed the
existence of reports of impending recognition of the Former Yugoslav
Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) with its constitutional name by the US."
The news agencies Reuters and France Press have already reported that the US
recognised Macedonia under its constitutional name.
UNITED OPPOSITION CALLS ON CITIZENS TO VOTE MASSIVELY ON REFERENDUM
Political parties and civic
associations, which support the forthcoming referendum, on Wednesday evening
at Pela square called on Macedonian citizens to vote massively on November 7
referendum.
"We obtained the state by the first referendum, but we have to keep it by
the second one. Let us forget about VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM in the following
days. Vote for Macedonia because it is a question of the country. No
political party will lose on November 7, but Macedonia will win, "
VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski said on the rally.
According to Gruevski, the referendum does not mean early elections, but
only a try to correct the huge mistake that endangers the unitarity of the
country.
"November 7 is the day when we should stop to lose and start to win. We have
to be united now, because the power of the nation is in it," Gruevski said,
pointing out that the referendum is not against Albanians, but against the
radical structures that dream about greater countries.
Gruevski welcomed the Macedonian Orthodox Church's support which stood
behind its people and supported the civic initiative for organizing
referendum.
Liberal Party leader Stojan Andov considers that the referendum means
returning of the self-confidence of Macedonian people.
"If the citizens vote, Macedonia will be a country respected by all.
Otherwise the possibilities will be closed," Andov said.
Encouraging the citizens to vote, Macedonian World Congress president Todor
Petrov said that the referendum was of significant regional meaning.
"The referendum will mean prevention of radicalism and extremism before the
decision of Kosovo final status, but also means closing of the question for
the name of the Republic of Macedonia," Petrov said.
DA leader Vasil Tupurkovski considers that November 7 presents an
opportunity to eliminate the Law, which according to him, divides Macedonian
people and all living in Macedonia.
"Macedonia and the democracy will win on November 7, while the authority
will learn the lesson from the people," Tupurkovski said.
Socialist Party leader Ljubisav Ivanov Dzingo assessed that dictatorship and
totalitarianism would come back in Macedonia if the citizens would not vote
on the referendum.
Democratic Union leader Pavle Trajanov considers that Macedonian people know
how to build, keep and defend the country.
"This time Macedonian citizens who will massively vote on the referendum,
will decide Macedonia's future," Trajanov said.
The first Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Kljusev, actor Meto Jovanovski,
Struga Mayor Romeo Dereban, Ljupco Nikolovski-Fufo, Trifun Kostovski, Ismail
Bojda and Adnan Kahil addressed the citizens as well.
