"AL JAZEERA": TWO MACEDONIAN HOSTAGES IN IRAQ KILLED

A militant group in Iraq said it had killed two Macedonian hostages whom it accused of spying for the United States, Arabic television Al-Jazeera reported.
The rebel group, on a video tape it had sent to Al-Jazeera, stated that their security forces arrested the two Macedonians at the moment when they leaving a US base in Iraq. "After interrogating the two persons and the documents we found, it was determined that they were spying for the US forces", the group says.
The video tape presents Zoran Naskovski and Dalibor Lazarevski, two of three Macedonians seized near Baghdad on August 21.
No Iraqi group has so far demanded a ransom for those persons.
Macedonian authorities are in permanent contact with the competent foreign services and representatives in order to check up the "Al-Jazeera" information that Iraqi rebel group "Islamic Army of Iraq" had killed two Macedonian hostages.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Dusko Uzunovski said that FM Ilinka Mitreva should have another telephone conversation Tuesday with her Iraqi colleague Hoshyar Zebari. Yesterday, Mitreva had phone conversations with Zebari and Qatar FM Hamad al-Thani.
Uzunovski also said that a team of experts, led by Deputy FM Fuad Hasanovic is departing for Qatar to meet with Interior Ministry officials on checking the authenticity of the video tape, presented by "Al-Jazeera" and alleged existence of another one proving the execution of the two Macedonians.
The Ministry is also working on the return of 19 Macedonians, who work in Iraq. Uzunovski said they would most probably arrive to Macedonia tomorrow with a special flight.

MACEDONIAN NEGOTIATING TEAM OPENS ALL ISSUES WITH IMF, POPOVSKI SAYS

Mission of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Macedonian negotiating team have opened all issues, and no further issues are to be opened until the end of the first round on October 26, Finance Minister Nikola Popovski said on Wednesday.
"We are at the halfway of the negotiations. A lot of issues have been opened, some have been closed, some are close to completion, and I hope that we will close them by the end of the negotiations", Minister Popovski said, adding that all structural policies have been opened, without large differences from both parties.
He stated that there were differences around the macroeconomic indicators. According to Popovski, 1,5% inflation has been determined so far, with differences regarding the growth of the Gross Domestic Product, which as the Finance Minister said, varied between 3,5% and 4,2%.
"The growth will be neither above, nor below this limit", Popovski said, adding that this is an issue that has to be reevaluated.
Tax reforms would not result in a change of the VAT rate, introduction of new taxes or decrease of the existing ones, but certain adjustments to the manner of payment and collection of taxes.
"Tax reforms touch upon the manner of collection of taxes", Popovski said, adding that the Mission did not have a remark on the prior manner of tax collection.
Structural reforms in the upcoming period will be located in public enterprises, health, business climate, i.e. conditions for business entrance and exit - registration, liquidation, bankruptcy etc, judiciary and labor market.
