International group of crisis with bad qualifications for the referendum

“It seams like that the International group of crisis wants to destabilize Macedonia”-this is a comment of the experts. The qualifications of this NGO for Macedonia are in the contexts of the following referendum in November and they are having apocalyptical content. In the reports to EU, signed by the director of the International group of crisis for Europe, Nicolas White is pointed out that Ohrid agreement will stagnate in the implementation, the situation in Macedonia is very serious and alternative solution will be recommended if the referendum succeed. “The Peaceful Process in Macedonia, which has started in the end of the conflict in 2001, has come face to face with unexpected obstacle when the oppositional parties have collected signatures for the referendum for the most sensitive problem- the revision of the local borders”, this was written in the letter send by the International group of crisis to Heavier Solana in Brussels and to the current president of the EU, the Dutch Minister of foreign matters, Bernard Both. The frightening screen-scripts which are indicated by Nicolas White have caused many reactions among politicians and intellectuals from Macedonia who don’t agree with the opinions of the director of the International group of crisis for Europe.

  Giving up the Macedonian citizenship

The statistic of the Ministry of internal affairs are showing that since the independence of our country until now there more than 13.000 Macedonian citizens who have asked and have received cancellation of the citizenship and the main reasons for this are the economical ones. The main reason, in most of these cancellation cases, is the condition which is given by bigger number of the West European countries for getting a passport, or in other words there is no possibility for the citizens to own two parallel citizenships.
For example, the Macedonian citizens who are satisfying all requirements for getting German citizenship, they will get this citizenship if they give up the Macedonian citizenship. Also in the practice, the number of the citizens who have canceled the Macedonian citizenship and took The German citizenship is the biggest - more than 6.500 in the past 12 years.

“Yes” to originals - “No” to forgery

“Kolinska” d.d. Ljubljana as owner of the original trademarks “Jupi” and “Kokta” and as an answer to the biggest number of the forgeries of these two trademarks on the Macedonian market of soft drinks, has decided to fight for its rights based on ownership of the trademarks trough its firm “Kolinska” d.o.o.e.l. Skopje and with this it will become part of the movement for protection of the costumers. It has participated in the protection of its products on Macedonian market and on Balkan market where is confirmed the forgery of these two traditional most famous products on the Former Yugoslav market. The Slovenian investments in Macedonia are direct European investment and that’s way the Macedonian authorities must do something about the function of the legal system and for stopping these kinds of forgeries. The original products of “Kolinska” are with high quality and are satisfying all needed standards of EU.

EU HAS NO PLAN "B" IN CASE OF SUCCESSFUL REFERENDUM, OSCE ASSESSES WHETHER TO SEND MONITORS

Further postponement of the decentralization process will seriously jeopardize the process of bringing Macedonia closer to the EU, Sheena Thomson, EU Spokesperson, said at Wednesday's press conference.
She pointed out the need of continuation of already started reforms especially the decentralization process, which is included in the Framework Agreement.
In regard to the possible existence of plan "B" which EU would apply in case of successful referendum, Thomson said that those were rumours, adding that Framework Agreement is the real formula for the success.
OSCE Spokesperson Maksim Filandrov said that the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) has been conducting the so-called fact-finding mission for several days in whose frameworks it made contacts with government and political parties' officials aimed at making assessment on the need of forthcoming referendum monitoring. Filandrov said that the government has not yet officially requested monitoring mission from OSCE but added that by the conclusions which will be passed by fact-finding mission it will be known whether OSCE will send its monitors in the country.

EFFICIENT CRISIS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS NECESSARY FOR MACEDONIA'S INTEGRATION WITH NATO, BUCKOVSKI SAYS

Creation of a Crisis Management System, which could deal with the risks and threats of the modern world, means building of a security system capable to protect the citizens' rights, create conditions for sustainable development and to implement economic, social and other Government policies and to upgrade the country's foreign policy credibility," Defense Minister Vlado Buckovski stated Wednesday at the round table on topic "Crisis Management in the Republic of Macedonia.
According to Buckovski, the establishment of such mechanism will enable central observation and assessment of the threats, risks and data analysis, efficient civil control of the security system in crisis situations at the highest political level and coordination of the activities of the system institutions and security system services.
"The threats do not affect only security and defense policy, but the policies in other departments as well, i.e. foreign, economic and social policies, health care and the policy on environment protection. Creation of a security system, which is capable to deal with these challenges and to support the overall policy of the Government, means efficient coordination of these departments at the highest level," Buckovski said.
He pointed out that structuring of the Crisis Management System was one of the key steps in the process of accommodation of domestic security regulations to NATO member countries' standards.
"Building of a synchronized security system in Macedonia, integrated in the collective security systems, is a strategic investment not only in our security, but also in the security of Euro Atlantic region. It is the interest of our partners in NATO and EU, but also a contribution which Macedonia could give to Euro Atlantic collective security," Buckovski added.
Director of the Intelligence Agency Lazar Kitanovski, experts from Macedonia, United Kingdom, Hungary, Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland, as well as parliamentarians, representatives of the Government and Army also addressed the round table.
The Law on Crisis Management is one of the key points in the phase of defense transformation. The Law will provide maximal coordination, on time reaction, efficient and appropriate use of the available capabilities and resources.
The Crisis Management System in accordance with the Draft Law will be consisted of Steering Committee, Assessment Group and Support Service, i.e. Crisis Management Centre.
According to the Draft Law, the Government is obliged to inform the Parliament about each decision in relation to the crisis and crisis situations, as well as to activate the mechanisms to resolve them.
Macedonian Army (ARM) may be involved in crisis situation and emergency humanitarian situation, but only in function to support the police.
According to the Draft Law, President of the state makes decisions on ARM engagement and kind and number of the troops, which eliminates a possibility to its abuse by the police and Government.
Crisis Management Centre will be established after passing of the Law, while employees will be mostly from the Defense Ministry.
